Pistolera Storyline

I totally understand the … rating this has. But I also know I have seen way worse movies. Having said that, I am not in any way recommending this. Especially not to people who are not watching many movies to begin with. Yes the main actress has not a lot of … acting abilities – which may be putting it mildly.

Having said that, there are others in this who can act and almost save the movie. Almost because they can’t either. Add to that some weird editing and some slow and painful … “development”. The effects are good though and the cinematography works … well there is nothing wrong with it imho.

Revenge is a dark path

As children, Angel (Romina Di Lella ) and Rico (Damian Chapa ) watched Raffaello”s men ( Robert Davi) kill their parents. As adults they are out for revenge with the help of taco seller uncle Danny Trejo.

Romina Di Lella wears enough outfits from Frederick’s of Spain. She was born in Italy and raised in Germany. She has an accent that is clearly not Spanish as she pretends to be in the film. At times the accent was comical when combined with her unconvincing lines. Overall the plot and dialogue was a joke. No one could deliver a line and even tried.

Sometimes you just got to stop and check a movie on IMDb prior to sitting down to squander away time on rubbish. And yeah, the 2020 movie “Pistolera” from writer Romina Di Lella and director Damian Chapa was one such movie.

There is almost no storyline here to this movie, as it is essentially just a revenge movie. Though not a good revenge movie, mind you. So you are in a for whole lot of nothing here actually, should you opt to sit down and watch “Pistolera” despite its low rating here om IMDb.

Aside from having a nearly non-existing storyline and plot, then “Pistolera” was filled to the brim with dubious acting performances and some lousy action sequences with very badly added CGI blood. The action sequences in this 2020 movie were so scripted and poorly executed that you just cringe when you sit and watch it.

Sure, and there shall be no doubt about the fact that I sat down to watch the movie because I saw that it had Danny Trejo on the cast list. But this movie is not really up to anything near what he usually makes. So you might just want to do yourself a favor and skip out on “Pistolera”.

This is definitely not a movie that I would recommend you wasting your time, money or effort on. And my rating of this 2020 movie lands on a very generous two out of ten stars.
