Dauntless: The Battle of Midway Storyline

By June 1942, the Japanese Navy has swept across the Pacific. In an effort to change the course of the war, a United States carrier group is positioned off the coast of Midway, tasked with springing a trap on the enemy. During this pivotal battle, the two-man crew of a U.S. Navy dive bomber is forced to ditch in the sea. Set adrift, the men look towards their comrades for rescue; namely, the ragtag crew of a PBY Catalina, who are sent to search for survivors. Amid the vast openness of the Pacific, with days passing and the chance of rescue fading, the men are forced to face their own mortality.

It is 2019 and I fell for a mockbuster, I’m just stupid

Are you reading this because you wanted to see Midway? Well this is another movie, and I just wasted an hour on it and even the beer didn’t make it any better. It’s just horrible: bad CGI, bad acting, I didn’t learn anything about the battle of Midway. I wish I could just see a 15 minute documentary about the battle and the 2 guys stranded at sea and whatever happened to them. Other reviews say the depiction of the ships and planes was historically accurate, so I’ll give it +3 stars for the CGI and battle scenes, +2 for the story, -3 for making me accidentally see it instead of Midway, and +1 star for helping me forget my problems and feel very sorry for everyone involved in this fiasco.

Bad in every way

Almost every aspect of this movie is bad. From the cast dialogue acting and inappropriate music. Judd Nelson and C Thomas Howell are the only famous names and it’s sad the way they deliver the dialogue about battle. Instead of showing the battles they just talk about most of them. All the action is some bad air combat and one torpedo drop. We’ve seen this floating in the sea thing before but this one is like watching paint dry. To crown it all the twist ending is so irritating. If they want to show that there are not many happy endings in war, making us sit through 90 minutes of this deserves a big fat zero.

Another worst war film! Talking almost entire film! Bored to freaking death! Avoid at all cost!

This film start with a man trying to shoot himself, the background change to 1941 Hawaii scene, and two pilot(Lee and Vandivier) crashing their plane scene! As turnout, this film is about a mission to save Lee and Vandivier from the sea! Entire film full of boring and unnecessary conversation! Talking in the aircraft, talking in the commander ship, talking while walking at the beach, even talking while taking shower! Super freaking bored! Pathetic! Lee and Vandivier floating on the sea, they don’t even try to swim to the shore or reef! They just keep talking nonsense! Ridiculous! After Lee die, Vandivier still can found a lighter and use it to smoke! Don’t make sense at all! If he got a lighter, why don’t burn something to draw attention for help! And the cigarette surely already soaking wet! But he still can light it! Barely intense scene is, the act that causing Lee and Vandivier crash their plane! This scene have some shooting and explosion! At the end, the saving crew arrive and save Vandivier! That’s it! Really wasting time to watch! Not recommended!
