I AM SHAKESPEARE (The Henry Green Story) chronicles the true life story of 19 year old Henry Green, living a dual life as a brilliant young actor and inner-city gang member, who was brutally shot and left for dead just shortly after his inspiring performance in Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and his remarkable (against all odds) recovery/intestinal transplant received by a 13 year old boy (Jack) who was killed in a car accident on the other side of the country but who still managed to save Henry’s life.

This was a really interesting piece. It’s always healthy to get a glimpse of a life that’s different than your own. The personal journey in this story is fascinating, as it should be. An enlightening journey if you’re willing to take the time to watch something different.

Such a terrific film

I’m not by any stretch what one would consider a big documentary sort of guy. And if do watch a doc film, it better be good and hold my interest! Well, I’m glad to say I AM Shakespeare did that and then some! What a story, a great lesson that’s contained in this gem of a film. I don’t want to give it away as a spoiler, but Holy Cow! I gladly give this film a thumbs up! Bravo folks, well done!!

tense and raw story. Unbelievable.

This is a thoughtfully done documentary about the life of Henry Green, who beats the odds at every stage to not only stay alive but become an outstanding storyteller and actor. This is worth a watch and I highly recommend. It is an example where truth is hard and real. Henry’s daily struggles on his journey are masterfully told.
