Don’t be fooled by high scorings this film sucks!

What do you get when you hire a Keanu Reeves look a like and a poundland Megan Fox? A film that sucks goats balls on a huge scale. Not based on the best hitch hiking movie ever the hitchiker of course so this is not even on the same level.

Dialogue which was written by a 5 year old and the most dire of acting on so many levels.

Not going to give any spoilers away because if you read my review you wont watch this movie and you will avoid at any costs.

Unsure why people finance these kind of films because you know your going to get your fingers burnt by a true critic and not one employed by the company churing this rubbish out.

Gave it 1 because there is no zero which sucks like this movie so go figure!

Fresh roadkill?

When I first saw the hitchhiker at the beginning of the movie I thought, ‘oh, cool. Dave Grohl is taking some time away from Foo Fighters and branching out into acting. I wish it had been the rock band’s frontman. He could’ve been the secret axe murderer who is found out near the end is killing everyone with an electric guitar. The actor that actually played the drifter was a yawn at best. One dimensional. His character needed layers and wasn’t given any. Not much onion to peel back.

Carmichael played the lead character and was able to give the role some texture. Once you get past the notion that this movie isn’t a low budget T&A horror flick (no money in the budget for T&A), you then immerse yourself into what Carmichael’s character is undertaking in her current adventure.

It didn’t seem as if the LEOs (law enforcement officers) knew any cop procedures. I’ve watched countless hours of cop video on YouTube and these “TV” cops didn’t seem realistic. I’ve watched perps fight with cops as handcuffs are being put on them. Sometimes it takes three or more cops to get cuffs on the criminal, even females.

Finally, I want to say the waitress gives the most authentic scream I’ve heard in a long time in a horror/thriller flick. Kudos to her.

A nice car…

….doesn’t make for a complete movie. Especially when you film the high-speed chase scenes at15 mph, which is pretty evident. Just watch the yellow lines. To add insult to injury, all of the chase scenes were too long. I guess to bring it up the 90 min run time.

It kind of has a poor man’s “When Mikey met Mallory” (Natural Born Killers) vibe without the (for lack of a better word) romance. There were interesting bits. Enough to make me suffer through the next GD too long slow-speed chase. Danielle Harris brought a good performance considering what she had to work with. There’s are plenty bloody gore scenes, which were handled nicely, a plus for viewers. I liked that the fight scenes didn’t involve dance-fighting, that so many other action driven flicks have been doing for the last decade. That part was refreshing.

Overall a watchable flick with some flaws. I would have rated it higher than 3, but the car chase scenes really blew it for me.
