20th generation goth whines about religion or something.

This might get a 5 star review had it been made by some art school goths in 1982. but now? no.

“poorly made” is being nice. all of this “symbolism” is grade school stuff done a thousand times before… so don’t waste your time here. just go watch any semi-arty film prior to 1999. or better yet, pour gasoline in your eye.

I am not better than Caine

This is a story steep with symbolism and criticism of religion. It made my head hurt trying to figure out the point to this whole mess which seems to be pointless and various in it messages. Marius is a child who lives in Heaven, a cult community who worship Caine. Marius has a friend Eden and is taught by Mr. Apple. A talking kitten convinces our two children to pass through a whole in the wall, a forbidden act, because an evil female lives there, If it sounds a lot like Genesis. The black birds are also involved as is sex and sexual symbolism. It made my head hurt sober. Might work as the third feature in a Fritz the Cat film festival.

Guide: F-word, sex, nudity. An animated film most people will love or hate.

Sunday School on Acid

Albeit not nearly as disturbing as “where the dead go to die” this one is a solid work full of black humor, hallucinogenic imagery and religious parallels. The voice acting is far superior to its predecessor, sounding much like any major production whereas I felt wtdgtd definitely fell short. Soundtrack is very well done creating an excellent atmosphere for the trippy visuals. Gore and shock value seemed a bit toned down, but none the less still has plenty of good kills and splatter throughout. Sexual imagery is prevalent within the film although the male characters are equipped the equivalence of a Ken doll, which makes for some awkward sex scenes. The trademark animation seems to be improved on with less glitchy movement and flowed smoother altogether. The story struck me as an exaggerated jab at religion with sacrilegious themes. I enjoyed this movie and look forward to seeing what’s next from Mr. Screamerclauz.
