Best stand up special I’ve seen in years.
First off, at the time of this review, out of the 43 people who reviewed this, the rating is 7.1, which is absurdly low.
Hannah is an incredible comedian who I had no idea about until watching this special (Although I am going to watch Hacks very soon). Already I’m placing this in the greats of my other favourite stand up specials (which are mainly John Mulaney and others I won’t go into here)
Dont be put off by any challenging topic she mentions, every punchline is worth it. A very varied special with some humor I did not expect.
If you are looking to just laugh at some very true, very real facts she’s putting out with the best energy I have seen in a long time, just start watching it, you won’t be disappointed.
Just not for me…
Don’t get me wrong, I love Hacks, and i love Hannah in Hacks. I was surprised seeing how small her credit list was prior to that show. But this just wasn’t that funny to me. I feel like her character of Ava is much funnier. I figured Hannah was some kind of comedy writer in real life but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I couldn’t tell if she wanted to be a physical comedian or one that relies more on voices and pseudo impressions. I decided that I had to stay awake and watch the whole thing to leave an honest review. It’s only 55min but my wife tapped out with about 11min to spare. So here I sit…waiting to go to bed and post this godforsaken review.

Not for me
I didn’t find this “comedy” special funny at all. Shouldn’t there be at least a few laughs in there somewhere? For some reason Max recommended this to me but I don’t get it at all. If this is where comedy is going we’re in trouble. I don’t know how many more characters I can type to say that I just didn’t find this at all funny. Usually I can find something to identify with or laugh at in any comedy special but this one was really tough to sit through. I need to come up with another 130 characters to say I didn’t find this funny without being any more insulting than necessary to the “comedian”. Whew, I did it.
