Jimmy O. Yang: Guess How Much? Movie Reviews

Crazy Growth

Perfectly executed bits with great physical comedy. Each joke segued into the next without any uncomfortable breaks and it was clear the audience felt the same. He stepped out of his wheelhouse, trying new stuff (that hit great), while still keeping in jokes that had the same flavor of what worked in previous shows. And he validated the new Jordans I bought to my girl who was so confused as to why I care about Jordan’s. Ty dude.

Jimmy has clearly put in the work to hone his craft. Great special and can’t wait for the next one.

The only thing I wish was different was how many times he touched his glasses, but I’m only saying this to meet the character count requirement.

India is part of Asia dude

I liked the whole show but it was unfortunate that when he is talking about Asia he is not even considering South Asia like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka etc as Asia. In Silicon valley he is not the only Asian. Kumail is also Asian. All the talk about Asians representing in Hollywood but we don’t even know our own people, no wonder Hollywood is ignorant of this.

Apart from this one point I like the entire show. Some really good jokes are there but it can be lot better. Hope he comes up with some solid material for yhe next show. Really liked his character in Space Force show. Waiting for the next show.

Not Side-splitting but Good Easy Comedy

I’ve all but given up on stand up comedy specials. Too often the comedians rely solely upon rudeness and crudity, and that alone. Being a jerk is not funny, not at all. Too many blamers using the platform to push agendas and make pointed statements. Not fun. Not funny. Then there is Jimmy O. While he probably won’t give you a stroke from laughing, his comedy is funny enough – and fresh enough – to be worth the watch. In this particular episode he does indeed have some very good laugh-out-loud humor. But I say watch Jimmy O so you can sit back and relax, knowing he’s not going to make anyone angry, not going to get political and make people uncomfortable. I smiled through the entire thing, and I laughed at times as well. For today’s modern comedy, that’s very hard to find. 8/10.
