This may be called a film of many “hook-ups.”

“Burning Betrayal” revolves around the frenetic lifestyle of Bárbara “Babi” Nucci, who “works” in an accounting firm, but whose life is primarily filled with burning betrayals.

First, there is the stormy relationship of Babi and her fiancé Caio. Then, following Caio’s infidelity, there is a hint of hanky panky with Babi and her bespectacled co-worker Thiago. Then comes the torrid attraction of Babi to the judge, Marco Ladeia.

There was a pretty good plot unfolding in a corruption scheme at Babi’s office, and it brings together all of the men in her life. But as the viewer attempts to piece together the narrative, there are long, protracted scenes of fornication. The viewer must decide whether these “adult” scenes add to or detract from the overall dramatic impact.

A rather wooden plot device was inserted when we learn all about Emanuel Syndrome in a sob story that serves to let Marco off the hook for his seemingly bad behavior.

The liveliest character in the film was the fun-loving and promiscuous Paty, the BF of Babi. The scenes were never dull when Paty put in an appearance, bringing some much-needed irony and even humor to this steamy, boudoir-driven film.

Boring with nudity and some inovation

It was so boring that I needed a pause or two. It has some nudity and tries to be an erotic thriller without any success. It fails also at being a thriller.

It has some “inovations”, some scenes more close to real life, things done different than the majority of the stream productions of these days but fails to win any point because is still boring.

As of 2023, this has 3.8 point that I thing is about right.

Really cannot relate with any of actors, maybe they try their best but cannot feel anything, even in the tense scenes is still something missing, but al least some real life situations are present: dating struggles, how attractive are the money without effort, etc.

Rubbish

I usually never give one star reviews, but I would even give a zero for this. Netflix seems to have gotten carried away by the success of 365 days (the first one), because they now allow any rubbish in the name of erotica. The leads have absolutely no chemistry& it is very off-putting to see them thrust away in the most mechanical fashion. You will spend most of your time wondering how Babi attracts almost every man she interacts with. From her best friend to the judge to the motorcycle club man. Give it a rest. The sex scenes have no build up or tension, it’s just for the sake of it. Still sceptical? Go right up to the end (before the credits start to roll) and enjoy that animation.
