A good comedy, heartwarming, easy to watch and very funny
This is one of my favorite modern romanian movies. It’s very easy to watch, accesibile to all ages, with a good pace, excellent writing and genuine local feel to it. In some ways, it marvelously captures the Romanian spirit. The actors are very convincing, natural and expressive.
The story sets of in a rural landscape, a vineyard, and continues for the rest of the movie in Bucharest, Romania’s capital. For those who live here or know the place, it’s quite cool to follow the main character as he wanders through the city.
It’s a good comedy by any standard. Go watch it and you’ll feel good about your movie choice.
A nice, feel-good experience
An easy watch with a lot of different sides to it. A mix of romance, comedy and action. Its best attribute is that it never takes itself too seriously. The blend of actors, both professional and amateurs is quite natural. The dialogue, unlike most Romanian movies, is understandable and witty. Compared to productions like “Teambuilding”, the humour is not as low-brow and it contains subtle satire. The soundtrack is quite original and it elevates the scenes more than usual, giving them almost a holiday feeling. The cinematography is discrete and does not rely on excessive filters to induce a mood. All in all, one of the good Romanian movies that appeared in the last year along with “Weddings, christenings and funerals”
