The Sound of the Spirit Storyline

Beautiful, precocious Rivka is a 12-year-old Jewish girl who believes in Jesus. She and her father attend a Messianic Jewish congregation in their community. But when her father suddenly dies, Rivka’s life changes forever. She goes to live with traditional Jewish relatives and attends their synagogue. From her stormy relationship with her uncle, to a meeting with the synagogue’s senior rabbi, to the attention of the cutest boy in the synagogue, Rivka learns life lessons that stir her faith to new levels, touching the hearts of those whose lives she has reluctantly impacted. “The Sound of the Spirit” is the never-before-told story of a young girl caught in the crossfire of strong feelings between two faith communities, told with humor, compassion, and grace.

The Sound of the Spirit Movie Reviews

We need more films like this!

My daughter, Alexis and I watched “Sound of the Spirit” last night. I really appreciate the story because she is 12 and we are discussing a Bat Mitzvah. We can’t have a traditional one at Kehillath Tsion so we are discussing an alternative. My wish is to go to Jerusalem with her.

As you can imagine we resonated with “Sound of the Spirit”. It was spot on! I can not emphasize that enough.

I believe my daughter was especially blessed by the film. The poor girl has suffered many losses in the past decade and I think the character Rivka, gives an example of strength in the Lord Elohim. The Ruach haKodesh helps us get through many travails. In the film, Rivka, gives an excellent example of how to approach YHWH and wait on an answer. I hope Michael R. Wolf writes more movies. Thank you.

Cute story, but painful to watch

This is one of the few movies with acting so bad I had to cringe most of the way through. With a better set of actors (or more training for the existing crew, or better directing), this could’ve been a solid 8, at least.

Great Movie to watch with the whole family

Very few movies have the ability to touch people of all backgrounds while sharing a message of hope. This movie accomplished this while being entertaining. The subject matter is powerful in a time when more families are blending faiths and dealing with the issue inherent in this blending. The plot move fast enough to be engaging and slowly enough to allow the viewer to come to terms with the twists happening in each scene. I look forward to seeing more work by this team and hope that more films are released in the near future. As the team works together they will make the small changes that will help them make the adjustments that will close the gap between this excellent first film and the work of more experienced companies.
