this is running 5/10 on here because it is boring

This is a full length documentary that explores the history of gay stand up comedy and how it impacted the culture of the world around us since TV began. My daddy told me once that if everything you are is wrapped up in one aspect, you are a weak and sad person. If all you can talk about is your job or your race or your height or who you have sex with or your dogs or your work out routine, you are a sad and weak person. This is over an hour of sad and weak people telling sad and weak jokes about how their bad choices were driven by anyone but themselves. They are addicts and depressed and it is your fault. Not funny and not worth 5 out of 10 on this page.

Terribly unfunny

Tig, Rosey O’Donnell .. and a dozen other poor, sad people whose whole depressing lives are wrapped around the fact they are gay. Just one after another for 90 minutes. We did not laugh one time but we groaned about a dozen. The jokes were all basically the same about how gay people are held down and heterosexuals are clueless about life and fun. And then they would talk about depression and addiction because they cannot make the connection that those are related to their Very poor life choices. This is running about 5 out of 10 from all the viewers and we’ll continue to go down as the initial views are lost to the truth. Skip this.

Where was Kate Clinton?

This is a great documentary. I enjoyed the history and the stories from all the comedians. Lily Tomlin has a long history making us laugh. Yet, she publicly didn’t come out for awhile.

Kate Clinton was always out and probably influenced some of the people on the documentary. It was disappointing that she was not included or even mentioned.

Kate was the only “out” woman doing comedy in the late 80s and early 90s. She helped many women feel positive about being lesbian.

I cannot imagine what my coming out in Chicago would have been if I had not seen Kate. Please remember Kate Clinton and her impact on gay comedy!
