Halftime Movie Reviews
Turning Hate Into Motivation – A Must See!
Walked out of this screening and almost cried. The hate this woman endured for years upon years from the sexist, misogynistic and racist Interviewers and Industry giants is infuriating. People often (Myself included at one point) thought Jennifer Lopez was deserving of some of the scrutiny she got from tabloids but this doc gives u a different perspective and JLo bares it all. I’m very impressed. 9/10!
JLo’s Halftime sets the standard for Netflix Artist Documentaries
I’ve watched just about all of these Netflix Artist driven films released in the past couple years (Beyonce, Shawn Mendes, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga ect) i can honestly say between this film and Taylor Swifts “Miss American” both are equally as great. They give you a glimpse into the artists life that is raw and powerful every artist who gets one of these films is deserving but what Jennifer Lopez did here is inspiring, she’s passed 50 (hence the Halftime metaphor) and shows even in the latter part of ones life, it can be just the tip of what you can accomplish.
New Respect for Ms. Lopez
Without giving too much away the documentary shows us Jennifer’s life from a new perspective, HER perspective. I would’ve never guessed that she felt that way about all the butt comments in interviews. The documentary also shows the results of those sexist remarks, and how she coped with it. JLo has gone through a lot these past two decades, and the documentary shows everything in a new light. Does this documentary make me want to go listen to her music or watch her films? Yeah, Do I have more respect for Jennifer? Without a doubt!
