Bubblegum & Broken Fingers Storyline

“If you don’t have your own plan, you’ll damn sure be a part of someone else’s.” That quote kicks off the first of multiple story lines, in the crime ensemble “Bubblegum & Broken Fingers.” This character-driven collage of sex, violence and survival is equal parts western, gangster and love stories. We follow the journey of a mysterious silver briefcase and witness the havoc it brings each new owner. The seemingly unrelated stories continuously collide throughout for multiple plot twists. Rodney, a young mob bag-man tries to leave his life of crime but his partner Dominic has other plans. German tourists bite off more than they can chew. A tiny mute hitch hiker has a day she’ll never forget. Blix, an escapee from a federal prison, goes on a destructive rampage. Playboy Doctor Sean Steele puts his life in jeopardy when he thinks with the wrong head. FBI agent Hampton and U.S. Marshal Yamato ruthlessly compete for the same arrest. These stories of dysfunction all smash together for a final resolution in the end. “Bubblegum & Broken Fingers” is a bizarre trip around the block that will leave you lifetimes away from where you started.

From One of the Cast

Exceeded every expectation i had coming into the project. I’m extremely proud and fortunate to have been a part of BG&BF. The family at Somnium productions get things done unconditionally. The Story is a an amazing series of events that unfold in some of the most unusual ways. At times there is so much said with so few words if any at all. Sean Jackson’s choices on every level provoked. He orchestrated an amazing combination of story, image and sound spun together with purpose and intent giving the viewer the best possible look into his minds eye. A Bizare walk thru the park to say the least. From the opening frame to the closing credit, BG&BF sets a Tone that is effortlessly powerful and compelling with the perfect shot of intrigue… A tone that may very well be “Signature Jackson”!

It’s one of those rare movies where the writing carries it alone.

I like it. It is hard to say why but overall the writing is good.. in fact, the writing is good enough to carry some actors. Yes it scatters some. Yes there are unnecessary characters and themes.

Really.. the writing was good. Even in questionably included scenes, there is good writing.

That’s what I am saying. It’s one of those rare movies where the writing carries it by itself, the writing flatters the actors and the cinematography.

(Spoiler) However, we all know Germans can be weird, they did help found America, we’ve known this for a long time. We don’t need to see it in a movie. That is an example of an unnecessary theme (End spoiler).

I gave it a 7.. and a half.

Something Vegas has never seen!

Everything about this film was excellent. From the story telling, to the score, and everything in between. The acting was extraordinary, even the characters that didn’t speak, conveyed emotion that some actors can’t do with words. I found myself completely submerged in the story from beginning to end and never for a second thought, “When is this going to end?” Like I so often do with independent films. This film should give aspiring filmmakers on a budget something to look forward to. I truly feel that this film will help put Vegas on Hollywood’s radar. Sean Jackson took his viewers on a journey through, crime, corruption, love, and comedy. If you weren’t constantly shocked and awed the entire duration of this film, than you must have been standing in the lobby. A true work of art that can compete with the big boys. I will be shocked if this production company doesn’t hit it big real soon!
