A Job to Die For Storyline
Sadie (Revell Carpenter) is thrilled when she lands her dream job with successful fashion designer Claudia (Maeve Quinlan). Almost instantly, Claudia takes Sadie under her wing in a somewhat motherly fashion, providing Sadie with new clothes, a loaner car, and a place to stay in her luxury penthouse. As Sadie and Claudia forge a new bond, Sadie’s mom, Lynn (Sarah Voigt), becomes wary of their relationship. Sadie and Lynn’s relationship is already strained, and Lynn’s behavior toward Claudia drives a wedge even further between mother and daughter. But when Claudia’s true, eruptive personality starts to show through, Sadie begins to question why all of Claudia’s previous assistants-including her daughter-have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Oh Sweet Jesus this is TERRIBLE!
This movie is UNIMAGINABLY bad. These are usually fun not-great MOWs, no high expectations, but this was terrible. No humor, very clumsy photography and direction. Just looking at the front picture and knowing this is a movie about fashion executives with folk at the helm who have no idea what that world is. Stupid and unforgivable.
Smart and fun thriller!
This is a smart and fun thriller that feels like if you put DEVIL WEARS PRADA through the Lifetime blender. Fun characters (particularly the evil career woman played by Maeve Quinlan) and snappy dialogue make it stand above the normal Lifetime fare, which almost NEVER has a sense of humor. Great twist at the end!
