Skip the first five minutes to enjoy.
The first time I’ve watched this movie I missed the first 5 minutes and I thought it was good , far stretched but still passable for the ”morale ending,” aka you can’t just ”be the driver” if you hang out with criminals talking the talk wont do it on the long run. After re-watching it in it’s entirety , it just doesn’t add up. If you miss the first 5 minutes and think all the personages are different people the movie make sens and there is a twist at the end , you discover the main character Abe is actually Kane but him being also Richard just ruins it all. I’m giving it a six stars because I actually enjoyed it the first time and if it wasn’t for that advertised DID crap I would have given it 7 or 8 but it’s only worth 5 stars at best.
Stop stigmatizing DID
“Multiple Personality Disorder” now known as “Dissociative Identity Disorder” is a dissociative disorder that can only occur in those who have experienced repeated or intense trauma before the age of about 7. People with DID RARELY hurt others- less so than neurotypical people do, and contrary to what this movie and other media like it are telling you, they are much more likely to be victims of violent crime- also more so than neurotypical people. People with DID may have “persecutor” alters that are difficult to deal with, but these persecutors are manifestations of personal traumas and so usually target the host or other alters themselves, NOT others. The constant stream of movies framing people with this disorder as dangerous or violent is not only incorrect but extremely HARMFUL. Please find a new plot device, this is tired and boring on top of being ableist. Bad movie, bad execution, bad everything. Skip this one and honestly any other “Scary Multiple Personality Disorder” movies. YAWN!
