MVP Storyline

On the streets of Hollywood, a recently retired NFL player is saved from scandal by a homeless veteran. With their “glory days” behind them, the two men bond in search of purpose and identity; but when the vet loses another Marine from his unit, will this new brotherhood be enough to save him from embarking on his own suicide mission? Will Phillips thinks he’s ready for his first year as a ‘civilian’ since retiring from the NFL. But the truth is, the league retired him. No one wants the journeyman’s services and like even the greatest players, Will is replaced by someone stronger, faster, and above all – younger. Being a Heisman Trophy candidate and a first round pick has given Will a decent ego, which was kept somewhat in-check over his career due to injuries, coaching changes, bad teams – but mostly by his wife, Tracy, and more recently their daughter Angel. Now that he’s out of the NFL, though, Will’s ego is under attack, and his actions are becoming reckless. When a night of liquor and pills leads to driving his car through a tree, Will is saved by a man on a similar path.

Absolutely amazing film

This isn’t going to be the big budget blockbuster, or art house indie garbage.made on the most modest budget and no marketingcampaign. This is a movie made for Veterans by veterans and it seats you into the very real crisis this world is facing. Suicide has become a plague among combat veterans and the issue truly has fallen on deaf ears to most that are asking for help. The work Nate and his team did to bring this film to life is amazing and I urge you to go in with an open mind. Now for the combat vets reading this look into MVP near you or the online forum the brotherhood is still there and we are waiting for you.

An Absolutely Powerful Film

Nate Boyer brings out both the ugliness of being a Veteran and the beauty of being part of a Brotherhood. What an absolutely amazing performance no doubt brought to life with his own personal experience. This is such a powerful story about what is going on all over the country with us Veterans.

Then…to show how two groups combine to help each other with the similar issue of loss of sense of purpose….masterful.

Thank you, Nate, personally for this film. I needed it. As I am sure many people do.

I recommend this to everyone! No matter who you are you will find a piece of this movie that will hit you in a sweet spot that needed filling.

As a retired disabled Veteran this hits home. Finally a fellow Veteran helps tell our story, our failures, nightmares and our struggles on a daily basis to fit in with society.

Incredible movie and Thank you for being a real life MVP to me and so many others. You help show that forner service members are human we just need help someone willing to take a chance and care about us. To others out in society we are just people who can’t make it but it’s difficult leaving the only job that a person knows and lives. Too many men and women are casualties back home and this movie is real. Thank you Mr. Nate Boyer and Balboa Productions.
