Facing closure, the downhearted owner of the indisputably unsuccessful film company named Sunshine Studios, Max Storm, (Chevy Chase), recruits his loose-cannon brother, Lester, (Michael Madsen), to lend a hand. Along with a motley crew of equally eccentric and inefficient employees, Lester’s friend and former convict, Nancy Longbottom, (Vinnie Jones), pitches in, unbeknownst to him that he is way out of his depth. Will a special cameo by the one and only, Burt Reynolds, save the day?

Please don’t kill me I have a dog and three cats

Randy (David Leo Schultz) is a production assistant who is also narcoleptic. When he passes out he dreams about bad movie spoofs. The film company he works for creates “B” grade movie rip offs and is going broke. They decide to make a spoof movie, something that Randy hates. Ellie Gerber shines as Wendy, the adorable girl next door.

I admit I had several LOL moments. For instance in one scene, Chevy Chase asks, “What makes a great movie?” Jennifer Sciole replies, “Paris Hilton.” There were however more scenes that didn’t work than those that did. Many of the spoofs were simply not funny.

No sex, no nudity, I don’t recall any f-bombs. Some minor sex talk, but this is not a sex comedy. Burt Reynolds and Michael Madsen are in limited roles.

Not really worth the time or effort…

I must admit that I had expected a bit more from the 2011 movie “Not Another Not Another Movie”. At least they could have made it into a spoof movie, as one would assume that this movie was going to be. But the spoofing in “Not Another Not Another Movie” is almost non-existing.

Now, of course I was lured into watching “Not Another Not Another Movie” given the fact that it had the likes of Chevy Chase and Burt Reynolds on the cast list. Sure, they are in the movie, but only in minor support roles. And the same goes for Vinnie Jones and Michael Madsen, whom are also headlined on the movie’s cover.

The storyline in “Not Another Not Another Movie” was straight forward and easy to follow, sure. But it was just lacking comedy elements and I don’t think I laughed even once throughout the course of this movie. And if you sit down to watch “Not Another Not Another Movie” with the hopes of it being a spoof movie, like I did, then you will be sorely disappointed.

The acting in the movie was actually good enough. And it should be said that there is an abundance of famous people that actually show up for small support roles or cameos, with the likes of aforementioned Chevy Chase, Burt Reynolds, Vinnie Jones and Michael Madsen. But the movie also have appearances by Sean Lawlor, Richard Tyson, Wolfgang Bodison, James Duval, Louis Mandylor and John Melendez. So there are actually a bunch of familiar names and faces on the cast list and in the movie. Just a shame that it is all in minor and insignificant roles. And I am sort of wondering why these people even showed up in a movie such as “Not Another Not Another Movie” at all.

“Not Another Not Another Movie” fell short of being funny and fell short of delivering what I had expected. This wasn’t really a spoof movie in the likes of “Hot Shots”, “Scary Movie”, etc.

My rating of the 2011 comedy “Not Another Not Another Movie” from writers David Leo Schultz, David Murphy, James Piper and Greg Romero Wilson lands on a mere two out of ten stars. There are far better comedies out there.
