Eerie Fairy Tales Storyline

An anthology of internationally-acclaimed short films by Mart Sander in a collection of uncanny tales of the past and future, of love and fear, of this world and the Beyond. A large number of top Estonian actors participate in this playful, thought-provoking fantasy film. The Demonic Narrator tells us four fairy tales for grown-ups. In the first story, ACTUALLY, the paths of three people who seem to share both the past and the present intersect in a lonely wayside hotel. In the second story, THE SPRING OF SOLITUDE, village boy Hans falls in love with the mysterious maiden he meets at the sacred spring and decides to free her from an ancient curse. ABEYANCE is a story about two investigators trying to solve the secrets of a World War II Nazi research center. THE BUTLER DID IT is an Agatha Christie-esque murder mystery spiced with black humor, where the butler must expose the murderer(s) over a dinner party. Anthology of mild horror and interesting stories in vintage key.

It reminded me of classic anthologies like Alfred Hitchcock presents. Its an homage to the genre films but I think it also has a modern aspect. Its not really horror but there are some creepy moments. Overall it works quite well and is entertaining. Gothic dark atmosphere.

Original, different, and worth watching

This was quite a good watch. The stories were interesting and original, and very well done.

It was visually pleasing, well written, directed, and acted. Each story had a lot to offer. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Spooky fun

Saw it at the test preview today and I have to say I was positively surprised. It was a clever and fun film with very good actors. The different stories are interesting and thought provoking. There’s an old fashioned “devil” storyteller, who tells us four different tales. Some are historical, some are modern. It felt like watching an old retro horror movie, so it was quite refreshing.
