Zenon: Z3 Storyline

In the third installment of the hit Zenon trilogy, it’s 2054 and Zenon Kar is 17 and competing to win the Galactic Teen Supreme contest–against handsome competitor Bronley Hale–and celebrate at the Moonstock Festival. She also reunites with Moon preservation activist Sage Borealis, who is desperate to keep the Moon from being colonized and exploited and wants Zenon’s help. Meanwhile, Commander Edward Plank and Aunt Judy Cling’s new foster daughter Dasha is starstruck by Zenon and finds staying out of trouble difficult. During the last competition for the Galactic Teen Supreme contest, moon goddess Selene appears and threatens to destroy the Earth, and Zenon must save everyone from this angry deity. It’s up to Zenon to save everyone from this angry deity. In the end, Zenon, Sage, Bronley, and Dasha and her friends Margie and Cassie team up to evacuate everyone in Protozoa’s tour bus and try to remove the Moon Dome, with each taking a hover pod. Unfortunately, the dome is too heavy until Commander Plank and Aunt Judy show up looking for Dasha. They’re able to help lift the dome and send it drifting into space. Selene then destroys the rest of the base and waves goodbye as the friends return to Earth. Selene stops the wild weather she caused, Zenon and Sage kiss, and Protozoa’s band Microbe and the new hit band Cosmic Blush hold a concert.—Anonymous

Meh – but excited for the Mammoth Club Podcast Review

Recently listened to the review of The Zequel on Mammoth Club, and thought I would watch Z3 for the heck of it.

This story is wild and a BIG jump from the first two. You got goddesses, magic dreams, moon colonization that is really just an extra large bouncy castle, has-been rockstars, Niel Armstrong??, the meteorological destruction of earth, and like 17 other plots all rolled up into one. I’m surprised I followed this when I saw it at 8, and I’m not sure if I did today as an adult either. I think what really made it feel different was they didn’t spend any time in the space station, not that that matters, it just felt like this one was a big divergence from the Zenon formula. Also not sure if I should care since this is a 20 year old DCOM though…

I gave it a 5 out of 10, and probably would have scored it lower if the nostalgia factor did not set in while watching it. I’m really just upset the recasted Proto Zoa. That is a real travesty.

Despite being the most boring of the entire trilogy, it was what entertained me the most, I have a captivating crush on films of dubious quality that are extremely simple, in short and hypocrisy, but it’s so cute, cuddly, those childish ones with a worthwhile moral lesson waste time…
