Repossessed Movie Reviews

“She could be related to Joe Cocker”

  • She has an ungodly voice, maniacal facial expressions…
  • That doesn’t prove a thing, she could be related to Joe Cocker.
  • No.
  • Could it be she had PMS?

A comedy made as a sequel to a famous horror “The Exorcist”. In the original movie, in 1973 devil takes possession of a girl named Reagan, while in “Repossessed” he takes the same person 17 years later, but here she is named Nancy. Linda Blair plays both roles, Nancy and Reagan… Nancy Reagan 😀 For her role in “The Exorcist” she got Golden Globe and Oscar nomination, while in her later performances she was nominated for the worst actress six times. The movie is full of typical Leslie Nielsen humor, references and parodies to everything and anything. To me, it was very entertaining and definitely worth watching, maybe even more than the original.

7,5/10

Is she once again possessed, or is it just PMS?

This is a rather unique parody film, as it not only spoofs The Excorcist, it’s actually a comedic sequel!

Linda Blair returns, as the same character of Regan, but has changed it to Nancy and is now grown up, married and has two kids. One night something happens and her concerned husband calls the priests while the kids bet on it just being PMS.

Leslie Neilson enters the picture as Father Mayi when younger priest Father Luke Broher brings him out of retirement to once again rid Nancy/Regan of the devil possessing her inside.

The film is filled with slapstick humor, parody, spoofs of other films and is certainly not the low rated garbage Imdb has been plagued with on this film. Just because it’s not a Zucker/Abraham spoof film, doesn’t mean it’s not good. It’s certainly a hundred times better than 2001, a space travesty or Rent a Kid.

If you haven’t seen this yet, and do enjoy the likes of The Naked Gun, Airplane/Flying High, Hot Shots, Spyhard etc.. then this one should not leave you disappointed. Unless you’re intelligence is as low as someone who thinks a movie like this doesn’t work because it came out 12-13 years after the excorcist, calling it too late, and thinking it would work better had it been released in 1979 when Nancy/Regan surely would’ve had teenage kids and a husband at that time!

Ignore low rated reviews, this is one movie that’s very underappreciated and a hidden Leslie Neilson gem that spoof lovers will definitely agree it’s way under it’s deserved rating here.

repo woman

OK, so we all know that Leslie Nielsen stars in the silliest parodies. It seemed inevitable that he would eventually star in an “Exorcist” spoof. What makes “Repossessed” especially eye-opening is that it’s got Linda Blair spoofing her own famous role. So, as they just want to be as goofy as possible, much of the humor revolves around projectile vomiting (you’d better have a strong stomach for this one). Aside from that, they poke fun at what were then current events, namely with Ned Beatty as a Jim Bakker-resembling clergyman; there’s also Oliver North having a memory problem, Sean Penn having a short temper, and a little something about Morton Downey. Oh, and of course they admit that they’re in a movie at one point.

Yes, it’s basically low humor, but they’re not afraid to do whatever they want. You gotta love this one. And the next time that someone asks “May I?”, you know what to say.
