The Haunting of Sharon Tate Movie Reviews
i’m pretty stunned by this
I just hope younger people realise there is no truth in this account of sharon tate’s murder. while it has been said she had visions or dreams beforehand that is the only semi truth in this movie. facts are distorted beyond belief. it goes into some rubbish about how our decisions control our fate and we can somehow change that. this seem pretty disrespectful to her family also. makes her out to be a bit crazy. it’s an okay movie but twists history way out of all proportion so should not be taken seriously.
Charlie Something
The story concerns Sharon Tate (Hilary Duff) having nightmares and premonitions leading up to the fatal evening. They play the killing scene over a few times. It is not as graphic as it could have been. We know how it ends, okay not the spirits meandering over their corpses, but everything else because it is history and they played it a few times. The story itself was not convincing. The language was out of sorts. The way they talked and the selection of adjectives and adverbs while not anachronistic, it wasn’t period, although they did fit in a “those cats” once that seemed forced by the actress.
No sex or nudity.
Not so Duff
I have to admit I am quite surprised about the rating here. Which of course won’t surprise me if this review (or the rating, because I doubt many will even read this) will “not be helpful” to others. It’s ok to disagree you know. And while we do strive and crave for others to agree with us, this isn’t always going to happen.
Now the rating I am surprised a bit as I stated, I can imagine that many only watched up to a certain point and were not able to go through with the whole movie. Because yes the movie takes its sweet time and tells a story … or incidents that I am not sure if or how they happened exactly as shown. Hillary Duff or rather the person she plays (the infamous titular Sharon Tate) comes off as quite annoying often. But it is the artistic freedom here that you should consider. Also it gets better as time goes on.
This is not Quentin Tarantino and maybe that also influenced a lot of opinions on this … or maybe some just wanted this to be more realistic and less dreamy/fantastical – but I thought that was what made it interesting, especially towards the end … not everything goes as expected … or does it? We can take certain things for granted, but we never should … also the title is sort of a give away! This is about a certain aspect of her life – take this with a grain of salt
